NEW
DAWN MIDWIFERY is a full-scope midwifery
center in Asheville, NC, providing well-woman gynecological care
as well as holistic midwifery care. We serve the women in Buncombe
and surrounding counties of Western North Carolina. We care for
women during pregnancy, labor and delivery, post-partum and breastfeeding.
We also attend home births and water births at home or in the hospital.
As
part of our well-woman care, we do annual physicals and PAP smears,
prescribe contraceptives, provide peri-menopausal care and discuss
life-style issues. We also offer testing and treatment for sexually
transmitted infections for our clients.
NEW
DAWN is
dedicated to optimal health care through all cycles of a woman's
life with commitment to a wellness model that includes the physical,
emotional, and spiritual aspects of care. We believe that empowerment
for women is enhanced with education and support as she moves through
the unique experiences of her life.
NEW DAWN began in May of 1997 as the fulfillment of a dream of Jan
Verhaeghe, CNM, and Nancy Koerber, CPM, who attended home births
together in Western North Carolina during the 1980’s and into
the 90‘s.
We
invite prospective clients to come, at no charge, for a thirty minute
interview with one of the midwives to learn
more about our services and to see if we are a "fit".
